A truly history making calf in the beef industry in the United States. This heifer has been joined by five more Star 5 calves with one still to be born by the end of the year.  All are by EZ Nova and they are black in color.

Her sire is the great red bull Murrumbong LGL Bluey.  His fullblood red embryos sell private treaty and public auction for $2000 dollars a piece.  Her dam is Bieri Farms 667 a highly effiecent first calving heifer.  Weighing in at 56 lbs and weighed again at 4 days of age at 70 lbs this heifer is a beautiful solid red.  Her dam scored a 1 for calving ease. In fact FJL 01 was so easy for her dam, she showed no signs of even being tired after the birth.  Bluey or any Lowline Bull is a superior choice for first calving heifers especially if you want to go fishing or golfing when calves are due.  Your choice should be Lowline Bulls.

May Day's weaning data is recorded.  Her weaning weight is 433 lbs with an adjusted 205 day weight of 523 lbs.  She was weaned at four months to start halter breaking and getting her ready for the Houston Livestock Show.  We promise to share more data with you when we wean the rest of the calves starting in late Feb and early March.

On May 1, 2008 the very 1st Star 5 Lowline/Santa Gertrudis calf was born in the United States at Flying J&L Ranch in Groesbeck, Texas.  She is a heifer.  We envision this cross to be the perfect answer to the cattle producer to be able to handle the varied Texas climates or any climate in the US, increase feed efficency on grass, reduce calving problems, reduce size of your commerical breeding herd and increase profit to commerical producers.  Call us to ask us how we can help you fulfill these needs utilizing black or red genetics.
